ASA Member Bulletin - March 2020

Throwing the Plan Out the Door - The Member Bulletin will have new information at the top and a recap of already shared information provided through email, LinkedIn and Social Media.

RELEASE OF STAY AT HOME ORDERS - In the US, More Is Anticipate More This Week

ASA provided a review of the California "Stay Home" executive order last week. We have also now reviewed NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY and ILLINOIS. For an analysis on these states, read the ASA Blog. If your state releases a work restriction you can request for ASA to review it and provide you with whether aviation parts distribution service is an allowable work function.  Remember ASA is reviewing this from the perspective of a commercial aviation parts distributor.  Military and Government support are listed under separate areas. Please email Jason Dickstein and Michele Dickstein, and ASA will provide you and post the response on the ASA COVID-19 website.

    FAA AC 00-56 LISTING

Please only file the submission via email.  ASA is requesting that the email be sent to two ASA accounts: accreditation and information.

      AUDITS

ASA-100 Audits are being reviewed and a plan is being followed.  Companies in the audit cue are working with the auditors on audit dates. Audits are being performed but clearly many factors are involved here and onsite auditing will be limited in the short-term.

ISO Based Audits will continue and in the short term most will be done through remote auditing. Guidance documents were released by the governing bodies and ASACB expects its first remote audit to be completed this week.

        TRAINING

We know the next few weeks will be challenging, but we also know we will persevere. At ASA, we want to focus on the road to recovery. We will release a schedule of online training this week. This is a great opportunity for any of your team members to enhance their knowledge on best business practices in aircraft parts distribution. Let’s keep our community educated so our talented teams are fresh and ready hit the ground running. This training will be free to ASA Members.
