ASA BOD Election Results

Joining the Board for their first terms are Greg Norris, Business Development, Parker Hannifin Corporation - Parker Aerospace Customer Support Operations; Kevin St. Denis, Director CAS Manufacturing & Quality; Fleet & Material Services, Customer Support and EHS , Boeing Commercial Aviation Services; and Nicole Wright, Sales Manager, AJW Group. There were three Directors re-elected to the Board: serving his second term is Adam Chiamulon, President and COO, Global Airtech; serving her third term is Sheri Murray, President, Air Parts & Supply Co. (APSCO); and serving his fourth term is Jimmy Wu, CEO, Infinity Air Group. These Directors complement our existing Directors Lee Kapel, TSI Aviation, Inc; Edith Stein, Southwest Airlines; Brent Webb, AerSale, Inc.; and Mitch Weinberg, International Aircraft Associates.

 

 

Change 5 to the Maintenance Annex Guidance of the EU/FA BASA impacts 8130-3 Issuance

ASA has joined a coalition of industry partners requesting the FAA to extend the implementation date to 6 months and that FAA and EASA issue a statement that existing inventory released prior to the implementation date is exempt from the 8130-3 requirement. Financial Times Article: EU Launches Aircraft Maintenance Probe

The Financial Times has an interesting article regarding the EU probe into manufacturers leveraging purchase of equipment with ties to future maintenance.  There are several other articles and editorials on this – Airline Economics.

ASA-100 Revision 4.0 has been released!

ASA-100 Revision 4.0 is Now Available!  On May 27th, the FAA released AC 00-56B. Any ASA-100 audits conducted after 26 August 2015 will be conducted to FAA AC 00-56B.  This topic was extensively discussed at the Quality Committee meeting and at the Annual Conference.

 

 

Unique URL’s on ASA Website for Members

ASA is now offering members the option of having a unique URL linked to their listing in the Membership Directory. For more information and to get your company’s unique URL, contact Jeanne Meade.



ASA is an Accredited Registrar for AS9100 and AS9120

ASA, using the trade name ASACB, is now accredited to conduct AS9100 and AS9120 audits. ASACB’s accreditation is through ANAB and allows ASACB to issue accredited certificates for AS9100 and AS9120 which, among many things, means that the audit results and certificates will be listed in the IAQG OASIS database. If you are interested in an AS9100, AS9120, ISO 9001 or ASA-100 audit, contact the group that knows the aerospace and distribution industry – ASA!

ASA recognizes the value of ASA’s logos for users, and ASA actively protects the Association name and benefits given to its members. There are three different logos, all of which are trademarked: ASA Membership, ASA-100 Accreditation and ASACB. If you see any company using one of ASA's logos illegally, please report them to us and we will determine the best course of action. In addition to checking the Member Directory and ASA-100 list, please visit the Illegal Use of Logo page if you have questions about a company claiming affiliation to ASA.
