New Unapproved Parts Notification
A new Unapproved Parts Notification was released regarding busing P/N BACB28AT07D030C, manufactured by Master Machine Products in Monrovia, CA. These parts were sold by First Wave Aviation (ASA Member). First Wave filed the SUP report that led to this UPN with the FAA.
REACH Restrictions on Cadmium
On November 10, 2011, Boeing sent a letter to their cutomers regarding EUROPEAN COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 494/2011 of 20 May 2011 which established a restriction on importing plastic parts containing Cadmium into the European Union. This restriction went into effect on 10 December 2011. ASA fielded calls and emails from members regarding this rule and ASA Director Greg McGowan assisted ASA in asking Boeing for access to a list of parts with Cadmium. Boeing has now published a list of parts containing Cadmium sold by Boeing. This list can be accessed via the internet at MyBoeingFleet, The Boeing PART Page, Info Desk, Other Topics.
Illegal Use of ASA's Logos/False Statements
There is value in the ASA's logos for users and ASA wants to protect the association name and the benefits given to its members. There are three different logos, all of which are trademarked: ASA Membership, ASA-100 Accreditation and ASACB. If you see any company using one of ASA's logos illegally, please report them to us and we will determine the best course of action. In addition to checking the Member Directory and ASA-100 list, please visit the Illegal Use of Logo page if you have questions about a company claiming affiliation to ASA.
