Election for 6 Positions on the ASA Board of Directors

ASA's election process is detailed in the ASA Bylaws. The bylaws call for the members to elect the Directors from the persons nominated. This year, there are 11 nominated persons for 6 seats. Three incumbent Directors are seeking re-election and three Directors are not. Seeking reelection are: Nicole Wright, AJW Aviation; Adam Chiamulon, Global Airtech; and Jimmy Wu, Infinity Air. We thank Sheri Murray for her 6 years of service; and Greg Norris and Kevin St. Denis for their two years of service. ASA is pleased to have a strong Board and the Directors and the Board continues to work to make sure it represents the members and industry.

Government Affairs and Legal News:

ASA's Petition to FAA to Extend the Limited DAR-F Program for Accredited Distributors Succeeds!

This memorandum provides a means where existing Limited DAR-F designees can continue exercising their delegation authorization through September 30, 2018. This extension will allow an existing Limited DAR-F to continue issuing an Authorized Release Certificate, FAA Form 8130-3, Airworthiness Approval Tag, through September 30, 2018, for new articles that were in the distributor's inventory prior to November 1, 2016. ASA will be meeting with the FAA about a long-term solution and other issues distributors face from the MAG 6. Additionally, several members are aggressively working with their Congressional reps and the FAA is back at the table talking about solutions. We will keep you abreast of new developments as they occur. Please use this link to review a copy of FAA's Memorandum No:

SPAM Emails:

A group email from ASA will not include an attachment.  Also, look at emails to make sure they are from ASA and not an ASA employee or a Director's name with an email from a random email. The reply to email should always be from aviationsuppliers.org. ASA keeps a list of members and contact names on the website for marketing and information reasons. This leads to spam emails. We are evaluating the website information and looking at other options.
