Industry News

IAQG releases Industry Growth Data

The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) has released industry growth information relating to the AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120 series QMS standards. The study showed a 3.5% global growth increase in issued certifications.

The OASIS database is currently going through an upgrade, this upgrade is titled Next Gen. One of the major aspects of the OASIS upgrade is it will have more functionally as a data mining tool. The following are key aspects of the upgrade.

  1. All current OASIS functionality will carry over.
  2. The Release 1 rollout is set for 12/3/2016 moved from 10/8/2016; features of the rollout will be planning, reporting, NCR's and certificates.
  3. The Release 2 rollout is set for 4/22/2017 moved from 2/3/2017; features of this rollout will be an oversight module and audit calculator tool.
  4. Audit entry phase / pilot testing will begin July 25 - August 8, 2016.

Standards Status

The new revisions of AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 have been delayed due to voting and publishing delays. Below are the current targeted release dates:

  • AS9100 standard published in October 2016.
  • AS9110 standard published in November 2016.
  • AS9120 published in all 3 sectors in December 2016.
  • Certification Bodies can audit to AS9110 and AS9120 at the earliest January 2017 following sanctioned training availability in December 2016.
  • Certification Bodies can audit to AS9100 at the earliest January 2017 following the release of sanctioned training now scheduled for November 2017. The original release date for this sanctioned training was August 30, 2016.
  • The transition deadline of September 15, 2018 to the new revisions of AS9100D, AS9110C, and AS9120B, has not changed. All audits after June 15, 2017 must be conducted to the new revisions of each standard, AS9100D, AS9110C, and AS9120B.

ASACB recommends that in order to prepare for the release of the new standard revisions, organizations should review the new ISO 9001:2015 standard for a baseline to prepare for the AS9100 transition.
