ASACB News!!

ASACB Recommends Early Coordination of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 Series Transition Plan

The ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 series standards transition deadline is September 15, 2018. ASACB is cautioning all certified organizations as this time will slip by quickly. As reported in the May 2016 Bulletin, all audits after June 15, 2017 must be to the new revisions of each standard, ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, AS9110C, and AS9120B. This date is just 12 months away. In order to stay on track ASACB will begin coordination with the following action items over the next few weeks:

  • ASACB will reach out to every client certified to either ISO 9001:2008 or AS9100C/AS9110B/AS9120A to begin discussion on transition plans.
  • ASACB will forward and request the completion of the Transition Plan Milestone form. The transition deadline and this form will be used to coordinate efforts of each one of our certified organizations.

ASACB understands the transition efforts of an organization will be dynamic and may change right up to the transition audit. The milestone plan and open communication is crucial to ensure a successful transition is achieved. All questions should be directed to Sam O'Connor Vice President Technical Services, at sam@aviationsuppliers.org or via phone 978-790-9370. Sam will be on hand at the ASA/AFRA 2016 Annual Conference being held June 26-28, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. Do not hesitate to approach Sam or arrange for a brief meeting if you have specific questions.
