Quality Assurance Committee Meeting

The next QA Meeting will take place during the ASA 2016 Annual Conference in Las Vegas. The QA Meeting is scheduled for June, 26th. Separate registration is required and is Now Open. All members are welcomed to attend and inquiries can be sent to Tony Brigham.

Join the ILS Team in the Bill Cote Memorial Golf Tournament for a fun round of golf  while viewing the Air Force Fleet at the Nellis AFB Sunrise Vista Golf Course. Sample Customer/Client Survey

Are you currently using an ASA-100 Checklist as part of your vendor approval process?  Ever complete an ASA-100 checklist as part of an approval process. ASA has updated a collapsed ASA-100 checklist for use in the vendor approval process. This is not required and was created at request of companies looking for a clean 4.0 PDF fillable version.

 

CAR Form Instructions and Sample Forms

ASA-100’s corrective action process has changed. CAR form instructions and sample forms have been created by the ASA staff and auditors. These documents are meant as aids in understanding expectations for closing a CAR. The samples forms are examples and companies may use them as guides. These documents will be on the website by January 19th.

ASA Granted AS9110 Certification Services

The Aviation Suppliers Association Certification Body (ASACB) is proud to announce that as of May 5, 2016 our scope of accreditation through the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB), has been granted expansion under the Aviation, Space and Defense AS9000 Worldwide management system scheme to include AS9110 certification services. ASACB now offers full certification services to Manufacturing, Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul and Distribution organizations operating in the Aviation, Space and Defense Industries with certification services to AS9100/AS9110/AS9120 standards. We are excited to bring the same level of knowledge and expertise that the distribution industry has come to know for over the better part of a quarter of a century.  


Industry News

IAQG releases Industry Growth Data

The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) has released industry growth information relating to the AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120 series QMS standards. A growth of 3.5% in issued certifications realized globally.  

 

The OASIS database is currently going through an upgrade, this upgrade is titled Next Gen.  One of the major aspects of the upgrade is OASIS will have more functionally as a data mining tool.  The following are key aspects of the upgrade. 

  1. All current OASIS functionality will carry over.
  2. The Release 1 rollout is set for 12/3/2016 moved from 10/8/2016, features of the rollout will be Planning, reporting, NCR's and certificates.
  3. The Release 2 rollout is set for 4/22/2017 moved from 2/3/2017, features of this rollout will be Oversight module and audit calculator tool.
  4. Audit entry phase / pilot testing begins July 25 - August 8, 2016.

 

Standards Status

The new revisions of AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 have been delayed due to voting and publishing delays.

  • Worst case scenario AS9100 standard published in October 2016.
  • Worst case scenario AS9110 standard published in November 2016.
  • Worst case scenario AS9120 published in all 3 sectors in December 2016.
  • Earliest Certification Bodies can audit to AS9110 and AS9120 will be January 2017 worst case due to sanctioned training not available until December 2016 worst case.
  • Earliest Certification Bodies can audit to AS9100 is speculated to be January 2017 due to the release delay of sanctioned training.  The original release date was August 30, 2016.  It will be delayed to a release date of November 2016.
  • Transition deadline of September 15, 2018, has not changed and all audits after June 15, 2017 must be to the new revisions of each standard, AS9100D, AS9110C, and AS9120B.


ASACB recommends in order to prepare for the release of the new standard revisions, organizations should review the new ISO 9001:2015 standard for a baseline to prepare foe the AS9100 transition.
