UPN Notice – FAA has issued a UPN that states that a distributor distributed a part without traceability to a FAA Production Approval Holder. As you know, parts are transacted regularly without traceability to a Production Approval Holder. Traceability to a FAA Production Approval Holder is not required. ASA has contacted the FAA. This type of misstatement impacts everyone; make sure you do not change your system based on an incorrect statement.

EASA Notice of Proposed Amendment on Installation of parts and appliances that are released without an EASA Form 1 or equivalent, comments due 14 March 2018
EASA has released NPA 2017-19, and the proposed changes will impact parts transactions. ASA supports EASAs objective to provide industry with flexibility for the acceptance of parts and appliances with different production background for installation in an aircraft during maintenance. ASA will be filing comments regarding the NPA. Members should read the NPA and either submit comments to ASA for inclusion in the associations comments or file individual comments.

Registration for Hazmat Training is Open! | April 24-25 | Early Registration Rates Available through April 13, 2018
ASA Members are eligible for Early Registration rates for initial or recurrent (web-based) Hazmat Training to be held April 24-25, 2018. The early registration rate is valid through April 13th. After the deadline the rate will increase. Please use this link for rate and registration information. This web-based training is offered to better suit your company’s business needs and schedule. Recurrent trainees will attend for half a day and be able to work half a day. Initial trainees (first time participants) will work two full days.
